What’s happening on Hive this March – round up of features

Welcome to our round-up of all things happening on Hive this lovely spring-infused March! All our features and things you might want to check out and not miss are below in a handy digest. Other things we like digesting is cake. Lots of cake.

So without further ado:

Our Author of the Month for March 2015 is putting-it-mildly bestselling children’s author, David Walliams. Famous for making household names of his Little Britain characters he created with comedy partner Matt Lucas, in the past few years David has turned his talents to writing children’s books, all of which have become firm favourites with children in the same vein as his hero, Roald Dahl.

Our Rising Writers for March consist of some wonderful writing talent from Melinda Salisbury, Sara Baume, Miranda July and Cecilia Ekback.

You can see their books, and why we think you might want to learn more about them, by going through to our Rising Writers page here.

Our Book of the Month is The WI Cookbook by Mary Gwynn.

As the Women’s Institute (WI) turns 100, this beautifully packaged book, curated by food journalist Mary Gwynn, brings together the 100 best loved members’ recipes nationwide. Organized decade by decade, and setting each recipe in its historical and social context, it spans everything from jams and preserves to main courses, puddings and bakes. Nostalgic favourites like Toad in the Hole and Kedgeree feature alongside contemporary hits such as Lamb Pot Roast with Nettle Champ and Italian Lamb with Roasted Sweet Peppers.

And just for the kids (and big kids), our Children’s Book of the Month is Completely Cassidy by Tamsyn Murray.

With my embarrassing Dad, pregnant Mum, loser brother and knicker-chewing dog, I’m practically invisible in my family.
So even though starting Year Seven is totally nail-biting, I’m *hoping* this is my time to shine. Because guess what…?
We had to take this test at school, and I am officially Gifted and Talented. It’s a bit weird as I picked my answers at random, but the school wouldn’t make a mistake about my genius… would they?

You can read more about Completely Cassidy and buy it here, and you can read the wonderful blog Tamsyn Murray wrote for us here!

The 20 books that make up the 2015 longlist for the Baileys Women’s Prize for Fiction were announced on Tuesday 10th March, and you can find the nominated books including their eBook editions on our dedicated page here.

We also have our offers page where we’ve got all our promotions and extra discount offers in one handy place for March.
